This is a 2nd card I made for the letter B alphabet challenge. This time the Bs in my card are the sweet little blue bird and the rose buds so this qualifies for the double challenge for buds. I started off by heat embossing 3 corner rose clusters (I only used 1 bloom from the 3rd corner rose cluster), the rose bud spray and the bird using gold embossing powder onto water color paper. Then I water colored the roses and leaves using worn lipstick and mowed lawn. I did about 3 layers of water coloring to get some depth of color. I set these pieces aside to dry. Next, I die cut the white image panel using the SB Divine Eloquence Die, then ran this die cut piece through the pinewood planks embossing folder. I very carefully took the creamy caramel ink pad and ran it over the raised areas of the embossing to bring out the woodgrain a little more. Using my MISTI, I stamped the sentiment using creamy caramel ink (and I still got it crooked-grrrr!). I die cut 2 rose clusters and the bird and I fussy cut out a single rose from the 3rd rose cluster and the rose buds. This card was a lot of fun to make because I knew it was going to a very dear friend for her birthday. Thanks for looking today. ~Karen.

GORGEOUS!!!! Is that tan heat embossing? As that is super cool technique if it is. This is such a beautiful card - and so well created!!
