Happy New Year. Happy to start with some new cards to post. I have been thinking about these colors from the CC719 challenge for several weeks since I saw them posted. I loved them although in the end I used more of a burnt orange rather than the red lipstick as I didn't have a good color match for this WC technique. I got several of these two-step stamps from Rubberneck Stamps at the Stamp EXPO last fall and have been pining to use them. Seeing the cards for feature stamper FS620 (a hardy congrats to Melody who has an amazing and very lovely gallery) I selected ABC10I15 iris by lacyquilter at Splitcoaststampers as I loved the simplicity and the water color. I kept the main panel very simple and used the hemp and twine to offset the image rather than the amazing curves and piecing in Melody's card. I am still exploring the FS challenges but felt pretty good about this one. I sponged the main panel with mustard seed and hickory smoke, then stamped the "WC" stamp using the distress inks and spritzed the stamp before applying it to the WC paper. I added a bit more yellow to the flowers using WC paint. I let the panel dry and then stamped the outline image in black. I stamped the BG panel with the block stamp, added the hemp strip, the orange twine, and the butterfly brad. Mounted on card using pop-ups. TFL
