This is a "freedom" birthday card for my sister-in-law #3 of 8. My Chatterbox verse inside gives her the "freedom" to be 29 AGAIN this year...making this patriotic card into a birthday card!
I found seven SCS challenges that inspired something about my card, starting with the Inspiration Challenges Serengeti Fashions.
#1. IC656 - Inspiration Challenge/ 6.30.18 - Serengeti Fashions. This Paileys & Plaid Tunic: https://www.serengetifashions.com/it...1=WF439+RMUL+S inspired me to make a red, white, and blue card, which led me to other challenges.
#2. FS595 - Featured Stamper/ 7.1.18 - Visiting cheiron (aka Cheiron Brandon) at her gallery to find additional inspiration was fun and resulted in ideas for my layout. I actually saw two cards that I used: Vintage 4th and SSS Challenge Blog Happy 4th Birthday Card. From these, I decided to use Inchie squares and a patriotic birthday card.
#3. CC694 - Color Challenge/ 7.3.18. . .Yeah! with their current "A Bushel of Red, White, & Blueberry" challenge, I get to do a color challenge!
#4. DDABC18R - Alphabet Challenge/ 6.20.18. . .Color Letter R = Real Red. This one fell into place as well. Bonus = Rough Textures. I did not add any additional texturing...the Authentic paper has its own "dimpled" coarse texture, for which it is known.
#5. WT693 - Ways To Use It/ 6.21.18. . ."Summertime Fun." Neighborhood Friends & Family Potluck and fireworks celebrating the 4th is always fun to look forward to each summer.
#6. F4A411 - Free for All/ 1.5.18. . ."Seeing Stripes." This gave me the idea to use striped paper on my card...in my middle Inchie Square!
#7. USEIT2018 - ongoing all year. I used really old patriotic Authentique paper that I bought way back in 2013. I forgot how much I like it! I was able to give my card a vintage look with this paper, which I always love to do. My stars and postage stamp Spellbinders Nestabilities are also really old, but I may have used them in the last year, so they may not be dusty enough!
Ingredients: Stampin' Up products: Cardstock--Midnight Muse (ret.), Real Red, Very Vanilla, Naturals Ivory. Punch: 3-Corner Curvy (inside-ret.). Baker's Twine: Real Red/ White. Patterned papers: Authentique Pride Collection: Dignity (bg), Unified (Inchie-Dots), Assemble (Inchie-Stripe), Amend (Inchie-Plaid). Hugs Seam Binding Ribbon: Union Blue. Spellbinder Dies: Stars Nestabilities, Postage Stamp Nestabilities (Inchies). Queen & Co. Twinkle Goosebumps: Red (inside). Button: stash. Fishtail Flags--hand-cut. Chatterbox sentiment/ verse (Fonts: Lobster 1.4 = sentiment/16--verse/15. Cut Above the Rest = sentiment (freedom). Size: 4-3/4" x 6".
Wow! Fabulous card. Just spotted it coming across the gallery, and was so impressed! Then, I saw all the challenges you did with it. Now I am doubly impressed!

Ditto what Ann said, Carlene. These papers are wonderful. I immediately thought of a little quilt. Way to tick lots of challenge boxes. The blue ribbon is really pretty!

What a gorgeous patriotic and birthday card, Carlene! Love the stars with the button and twine. You amaze me with your ability to combine so many challenges in one card! Hugs!
Beautiful design, Carlene! You are so clever to make a birthday card incorporating patriotic theme. The colors and layers and dimension all are beautifully combined and I so adore the blue ribbon! Love the various patterns and vintage vibes, too. TFS!
