This is my card for Jeanne's Stamp Over It Twice MIXed media challenge. I hope that two different watercolour mediums qualify for mixed, but just in case I did use some TH distress crayons and also my little burned paper bag leaf (see TLC191 for the tutorial) has acrylics on it too.
Thanks for the early posting, Jeanne. Ireland is undergoing a heatwave just now and my attic temperature is high nineties during the day, so it was great to get the two backgrounds made before work. The base one is Cling Wrap using Brushos and spray starch. I stamped an IO script stamp in Sepia but it didn't really show enough so I also partially inked the Music stamp in Versafine Clair Morning Mist and added that. Distressed the edges and stitched, and added it to a white base after colouring the edges with a metallic distress crayon.
For the bird panel, I used Winsor & Newton watercolours on acrylic paper for some texture, aiming for a sketchy look. After work I stamped the bird, trimmed it down, and then partially stamped a Hero Arts script stamp in places. Edged it with the distress crayon again. I added an offset matting layer of textured specialty paper, again edged with the distress crayon. Added the sentiment, and then the little leaf. Originally I'd die-cut another leaf from some of the cling-wrap background, but the burned paper bag leaf picks up on the simple uncoloured image and all the metallic distress crayon edging.

What a sweet card, Sabrina. Love the musical paper under the bird! Birds and music just go together! Your leaf looks metallic which is awesome! Everytime I see your stitching, I am reminded to get my machine out and try adding stitches to a card. Love the Irish green, as well.

Love your vivid and multi-colorful background with the music stamping...(always a sucker for music layouts)! Always love the stitching and your birdie presented on angled mats are a great add! But, your little burnt leaf is just the absolute ultimate! This, or course, must go to my FAVs!

Oh, Sabrina, what a gorgeous card with such great mixed media techniques! You are amazing with them, and it's lovely with the great background and the sweet cardinal. Wow, I didn't realize you were having such tremendous heat! I'm so sorry that you've endured such high temps where you craft. So glad you were able to make this in the morning before work! You are a precious gem! Hugs and love...and keep cool! xoxo
