| | I made this card for this week's Teapot Challenge. Polly chose the theme of "She's The Cat's Meow," and the recipient definitely is. I for one have truly missed seeing Priscilla's art work in the scs gallery, but now we are seeing some again which is exciting. I chose paper piecing for this card so the apron and head scarf are paper pieced. This card also fits this week's alphabet challenge for the letter R for Real Red. I had my dear grandmother in mind when I was making this card. She used to walk down her farm drive to "wet the plants" by the mailbox. So of course, when I found this Art Impressions stamp recently it simply had to come home with me. Grandma always wore a shabby flowered apron that she made years ago and usually in shades of yellow and sometimes red. Her shoes were nearly always red and her gloves were nearly always green. Ha! My grandmother looked nothing like this gal, but the feeling is definitely there. And grandma always had a cat pulling on her apron wanting attention and there were always birds overhead singing. I do not have a mailbox stamp so I am pretending the mailbox is close by. Ha! Thanks for looking today and welcome back Priscilla! ~Karen. |
