The woman I send cards to for Send a Smile 4 Kids said she is out of summer cards, and especially needs cards for children age 6 and under. I got the "Chicks & Flower Foil" sticker sheet just over a week ago at Hobby Lobby, and made myself use every sticker on it for kids' cards. (I ended up getting 16 cards out of that and one other sticker sheet!) These chicks plus this sketch made me think of a famous photo of The Beatles walking across Abbey Road. I decided right then to "recreate" that scene!
This card came together super quick! I cut panels of a pink polka dot paper from the "Hello Sunshine" pad to the sizes I'd measured in the sketch. I adhered them to an A2-size piece of yellow cardstock. ("Yellow Submarine" come to mind, anyone??? LOL) I didn't want my little chicks just floating in mid-air, so I die cut some green cardstock with the "Grassy Hillside Borders" die, trimmed pieces from it to fit at the bottom of each of the panels, and glued them in place. I did not, however, glue the grass blades down just yet.
I applied liquid glue to the backs of the chicks, just to make sure they didn't pop off, and adhered them to the panels. Then I applied glue under the top part of the grass, and weighted it down with acrylic blocks while the glue dried. I left that for quite some time while I did other things. When the glue had dried, I adhered my card front to a white card base, and my homage to The Beatles was done!
