I made this card for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge. Carla (Covington Crafter) chose the theme, "Surely, You Jest" for this challenge. One of the things we could do was a faux technique. I chose to do the faux pressed flowers technique because I have always wanted to try this, and what a fun technique this is too. I discovered that I did not use enough glue on the 2 largest flowers so they are not as pressed as they should be, but now I know. I stamped the stems and even some background flowers, but also added the pressed flowers too. The butterfly is stamped, colored and fussy cut. Thank you for looking. ~Karen.

You are so great at techniques that I can't believe this is your first faux technique, Karen. I've had that problem with not enough glue too, but actually I think it adds to the authentic (as much as paper can be!) look. This has such a wonderful Spring feel - I am sure any of us suffering from the prolonged winter weather would love to receive this pretty flower meadow.

Karen this is so pretty and cheery! I remember this technique but haven't done it in a while..thanks for reminding me. Your 'glue goof" actually turned out great...I love the mix of texture here with the pressed blooms and the attached ones.

I have never seen this faux technique before but it does look like pressed flowers! I loved to press flowers when I was a little girl. I usually pressed them inside a sheet of wax paper in a favorite book. Lovely, springy card!

When I was a little girl, my Dad and I pressed flowers for a project at school. Ever since then, I have been a fan of pressed flowers. This is lovely and thank you for bringing back a happy memory for me!

Oh, this is so happy looking. I love it, Karen. I have always loved the look of pressed flowers and I also really like your enamelled dot centers. Gorgeous twine too. Love the little blue/green flower in the center surrounded by all the pastel pink and orange ones.

Beautifully done, Karen. I like the dimension from the slightly raised flowers, one of those happy accidents! Your pretty flower field is a breath of spring and is sure to delight the happy teapotter who receives it. Thanks for playing in my challenge.

Your flowers look Fabulous, Karen, using this new to you technique! I like how the candy dot centers bring the flowers to life. Beautifully colored and cut butterfly, which adds so much to this pretty springy scene~
