I made this card a while ago and sent it to a very dear scs friend who has been incredibly supportive to me this year. I am behind in this year's alphabet challenges, but I do prefer to do things in order whenever possible so I was trying to come up with a card to make for the Alphabet Challenge for the Letter F when I realize this card fits the bill for Fuchsia and possibly for "French Rose." I might be stretching it a hair on the French Rose color. I saw a video that Gina did on StampTV.com that showcases her new stamps and stencil that creates a wonderful wreath design. I could see immediately how the stencil was created so I made my own using a square die. I cut the square once, then offset the square in the same hole and cut it again. The tricky part was finding stamps that are sized appropriately for this technique. I do believe I am going to spring for Gina's stamp and stencil set yet because of how gorgeous the flower and leaf stamps are and how easy it will be to use compared to hauling out several stamp sets and trying to make it work. However, having said this, what a fun technique this is. I enjoyed every minute of watching this image unfold. I really wanted to add some texture to this card because it is a wreath after all, so I got out this oldie but goodie Spellbinders die and did some fun paper weaving with it. A few gems and a stamped sentiment and the card was done. Thank you for looking today.
