This week’s Friday Free For All Challenge, (F4A424 - “Duuuuuuude!!” - 4/6/1, was to make a card for a dude...young or old, it just needed to be dude-like!
This was a fun challenge because love to make masculine cards, and I love the challenge of coming up with a card that is out of the ordinary and will bring a smile to the guy receiving it.
I made this get well card for my brother-in-law who loves to restore old autos and trucks. This is admittedly a cheater-card because I cut up a used Hallmark card that I had saved - even the sentiment was salvaged from the from the front of the original card.
The only clever add on to this card is the crescent wrench brad and loop of embroidery floss as wire (for repairs, of course!). I didnÂ’t intend to add this to the sentiment tag, but I goofed in the way I cut the tag allowing too much white space on the left end and needed to fill it up with something. This little wrench came to the rescue, just when I needed it! I think my BIL will get a chuckle out of the faux-wire - it makes me think of baling wire and the repairs we used to do on the ranch!
I did come up with my own saying for the inside, which I printed on the computer and die cut with a tag similar to the one on the front. It read: “Glad to know you’re up and running again!”
Thanks for swinging by and looking at my dude card. I appreciate it!

Brilliant! Good for you recycling. Excellent dude card. Love the tiny wrench and "wires". Fabulous card design. This is a perfect card for your BIL who restores autos. Love the sentiment you used on the front and the inside. Well done! TFS

So dude-like, Susy, and I love when the mistakes turn out to be perfect like this one! Love that little wrench to fasten the sentiment along with the silver thread. Perfect for a guy on the mend! Hugs!
