Have you ever had a idea for a challenge and when you finally finish, the end product is not really matching your vision? Well, this is what happened with my LO
This LO is for a few challenges. I started by choosing this week's Colour Challenge thinking I could make a cool plaid border around my LO. I had 2 of the colours and one pretty close but after stamping away several layers, the Pear Pizzazz seemed to dominate. Oh well, out the window went that challenge....
I had a vision of stamping my OLW "Commit" in Black in the centre of my LO. I had made a card using this technique last year and it looked pretty cool. Unfortunately I forgot how I did it and it was only when I was merrily stamping away, adding alpha's out of my stash of all sizes that the words started to blend into each other...oh dear! All there was for it was to keep going and I was adding as many Cs, Os, Ms, Is and Ts I could find in all variations.
Checking the stash challenge I find my edge punch...love this punch.
I'd seen an old Jennifer McGuire video weeks ago where she does the inlaid die technique, so out come my stamps and after cutting my word out and laying the letters in the middle it looked pretty cool. It was at this moment that I realised that I needed to pop the layers up. I also had cut out several letters of my word and was layering them up to find that they didn't sit well when I put them back into my word. They also disappeared and you couldn't read what my word was.
Nothing for it but to get out my grey ink pad and lightly sponge the letters....now I could read them, but where was the rest of the stamped colours...somewhere underneath the grey. Oh well, I had the idea LOL.
Back to the stash buster challenge....paper to be used....mmmm....eureka moment, I had a stash of vellum and had never used a sheet, plus I didn't want to cover up my words stamped in black. Tags cut and embellishments added. You would think adding these would be easy, but how many variations and colours can a girl go through....a LOT I did lots of moving things around.
Still it lacked something when I spied my stitch stamp....another product I love....stitching added. Ahhh, much better and reminds me of a tablecloth
Peg added. Done and another challenge....challenges...met
Shame about the colour challenge...next time.
I had had another afternoon of Fun.
TFL Happy day
PS: I've just realised when looking at the photo of my LO that the border is checked...no wonder I can't see my colours..it was supposed to be plaid LOL...Doh! The centre piece also covers up some cool alphas out of my stash too LOL...C'est la vie!

What a fun layout with your "Commit" theme!! Even though it may not have been what you had originally envisioned, I think it turned out great and it sounds like you had fun!! That is what it is all about- thanks for sharing!
What a fun layout! I love how you combined your OLW with the Stash Buster Challenge, and always enjoy reading about your process! I think I have that paper, too, or is that a stamp either flowers and leaves? And that stitching stamp looks like real Stitching! Thank you for playing the February Stash Buster! Love having this layout in our gallery. Hope you are having a great day!
