I made this card for 2 challenges. The Teapot Tuesday challenge in which Pat asked us to use sewing on a card. I am stretching it a bit with the sewing because my "sewing" is the faux piercing on the dies. I actually made another card for this challenge that had sewing on it, but I accidentally made it a birthday card so this is my 2nd attempt, and then I forgot about the sewing (sigh). When I was done with this card I could see all the X's in the DSP so I am also entering this card into the Alphabet Challenge for the letter X. My photography skills leave a lot to be desired because these hollyhocks are much bolder in real life and show more contrast between the colors too. My grandmother always grew the most gorgeous hollyhocks so when I found this already colored image in my stash pile, I knew I was going to use this for Aunt Betty's card. Thank you for looking today. ~Karen.

Your card is gorgeous! I am sure Betty will love it! The hollyhocks remind me of my childhood as so many people were growing them in the neighborhood. My mom always loved them. Yours are so pretty!

Lovely card for Aunt Betty I love your pretty colored and framed flowers, the sewing or stitching is optional so doesn't matter, and I'm sure Betty will love it.

It took me ages to get to see this beauty - I kept getting that error message, while I could open another page perfectly. I'm glad that SCS is finally letting me in. Those hollyhocks are just beautiful, fabulous colouring and wonderful framing. And a perfect choice of paper for the background.
They grow in gardens here, but when we have been on holidays in Greece, we see them growing as wildflowers along the roadside - and that is a lovely sight to see. They're certainly a flower with an old-fashioned cottage garden feel, and I am sure Betty will think they are as lovely as I do.

Karen, Everything about your card is Lovely! My gosh, that dp is so pretty, your die-cut border really brings out the beauty of those hollyhocks and your coloring looks pretty sweet from where I'm sitting! Great job~
