Lisa, this week's Ways to Use it hostess, is giving us a chance to play with our new toys this week in WT669 New Year, New to You.
My son and his wife were very, very, very good to me this year, three sets of Tim Holtz thinlts and a sealing wax set! I wanted to use as many of their gifts as possible in their thank you card. I'm also trying to use at least one item from my stash on each card. Thanks for the inspiration, Lisa!
I die cut the holly, sponged gold ink and heat embossed the holly sprigs. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, edged the panel with a gold paint pen and backed it with a Distress ink/pearlescent watercolor bg. Used dimensional tape to raise the panel and added the holly sprigs to finish.
I made a matching envelope with the punch board and embossed the flap. Finished it off with a beautiful sealing wax F. TFL

I have that die and love it! You made a beautiful card with your new dies! I’m with you trying to use up some of my stash of papers! Good luck! Love the colors and gold embossed sentiment!

I like the way you used both the positive and negative of the die, very effective. And the embossed gold adds such a luxurious look, followed through with that very classy envelope.

Beautiful, Carla! The gold embossing is such an elegant touch with your die cut holly! The matching envelope with the sealing wax is elegant as well and reminds me that I have some of that sealing wax and press lurking somewhere!

Carla, this is a beautiful representation of your gratitude for the goodies you received. I can just imagine how delightful this was to create and send to your son and DIL.

Carla, this is fabulous. I too have been thinking about getting a sealing wax set. May I ask how you got the picture within the picture, what program you used?
