This is a very late Teapot Tuesday card for Sabrina's fun challenge. Life has been a bit hectic and card making has sadly taken a backseat.
This background was an attempt at "Paint Swiping" but I got a bit carried away and before I knew it, there were no open white spaces.
I had a clean out before Christmas of all the dried up pots and dodgy tubes of acrylic paint. I pretended not to be surprised when I found 9 tubes of white paint.
To get all the different coloured paints on the background, I added a few drops of Distress re-inkers to white paint. Works a treat!
These fun birds came all the way from Canada...in a Michael's bag!! My lovely fellow Aussie friend Helen aka helekins sent this Dylusions stamp set to me during her holiday to Canada.
All of the birds come complete with legs and boots. I did however make new legs for big bird so I could fit them all on the card. The birds are fussy cut and stuck on the stenciled base. Their tail feathers are not stuck down, so the Teapotter who receives this can foof them up a bit so they look 3D.
The painted background was really hard to stamp on. I tried various inks, but the stamped sentiment dried, it faded into the background.
To finish off, I added a few dots by using an old Hero Arts dotty tree stamp and doodled a border.
Thank you for looking and a big thank you to Sabrina for co-ordination all the Teapot Tickles throughout the year.

These brightly colored non-turkeys are the cutest ever!! I knew you'd be doing some stripey legged birds on your card and I was right! Awesome stenciling on this bg..wow! Thanks for the tip of mixing distress inks and white paint...9 tubes? That's a tad bit excessive....This card is really fun....some teapotter is going to be delighted to find it in their mailbox!

These are your kind of birds, Susie! Love the bright coloring and fabulous stenciled bg. You've got all the Teapotters excited that they may be the lucky recipient!!
And, I was even later than you to the Teaparty!!!

Miss Susie, not sure where to start as is so cute and so much to see. Love your boot wearing long legged colorful birds. Lucky you to get as a gift and use them. Background turned out great for the trouble you had thus making a great card for some Teapotter to be tickled with.

They came with legs and boots? How perfect for you. What a darling mini flock of birds which certainly made me smile this morning. I think the background is beautiful, especially the brick wall effect.
I often heat emboss sentiments on dense backgrounds because I've had that "sinking feeling" too ;-). But faded is fine too for those of us who didn't start out with your original expectations.

Super fun card, Susie. Loved the details of your bg adventure, and what a perfect stamp set for Helen to get you. You made the set come to life and that sentiment is wonderful and fun. Hugz
