The focal image for this was heavily CASEd from a panel done by the amazing Lin Brown using this Lynne Perrella stamp from Paper Artsy. I'll link the original HERE so you can see how heavily I've borrowed. But in learning to do these large pieces, it is useful to CASE, I am finding, because as I do I deconstruct use of space and so forth.
I won't do a detailed description of how I did this, it would take too long and lots of it is pretty obvious. The BG is the last bit of the masterboard I did not too long ago, and the bow at the top is an awesome bow die I got on sale from Spellbinders. The flower center is a button with the shank clipped off which was way easier than I expected to do. I colored the girl and buildings with watercolors. The butterfly was a stamped image coated with three layers of UTEE (my first time using UTEE and why did I wait so long, I love the stuff). Those leaves were the result of Loll Thompson's wonderful Tissue Paper Watercolor tutorial on this site - I glued my crumpled tissue paper to acetate as she suggested and then embossed the tops of the wrinkles. Then I cut out the leaves using a die and set it aside until I found a use for it. You can see if you look at the leaves against the gold-dotted washi at the ottom that they are tanslucent. Thanks, Loll, what an amazing trick to have in my bag.
Also not a great pic, but I'm not use to photographing such large projects and haven't figure out the lighting adjustments yet. I guess I should, since I keep making them.

I really like the feeling of looking through a window which that arched shape gives. Love the idea of using acetate to back the embossed tissue, and your beautiful butterfly reminds me of an antique enamelled pin I have. Why indeed did you wait so long, I think UTEE is great stuff. And for me, it doesn't seem to get cross-contaminated with stuff the way regular EP does, even though I have the same workflow for using both.
