Paper therapy today: This is for Allison's Sketch Challenge. I was kicked out of my craft room for a couple days and didn't have a chance to finish my sample card for her. This one is not what I originally planned to do. The day before Thanksgiving, we received news that my father unexpectedly passed away. It was a surprise as he was in relatively good health overall and was not sick or suffering; however he did have dementia, so it was not a shock. He was always a man of words as a public speaker, counselor and author. He gave me my love of reading, writing & story telling. When I was young, he would sit by my bedside and we would talk about all sorts of things before I went to sleep. My favorite subject was about outer space and what was out there beyond our world. I imagined beautiful colors and light. Today I was enthused to make this card by Dawn's Free 4 You Challenge to be inspired by the quote: "This world is but a canvas to our imagination". This is a tribute to my Dad who always inspired and encouraged my imagination, even my youthful thoughts about our world and what was beyond. I'm linking also for Sabrina's WT Challenge - Blast Off into Space.
Giving thanks for my Dad who is in my thoughts and always in my heart.
Thank you to the hostesses and to you for looking.

First of all, my deep sympathy on your bereavement, the suddenness of which sounds similar to my dad's earlier this year. I'm glad that you too were able to make a card to express some of your feelings - art journaling without words, therapy indeed. And what a beautiful soft night sky scene you created from your memories.
