I was so excited to see the Ways to Use it challenge this week because I love making galaxy backgrounds (although I haven't made many). For this card, I used Stampin' Up inks on watercolor paper and added some Black Soot Distress ink to get the proper darkness.
After the panel was dry it was sprayed with Shimmer spritz for some nice sparkle, and splattered with White Gesso. That faded into the background too much when it dried, so then I splattered White Gouache and that worked much better.
I used the Shimmer spray on a piece of white card stock and when it dried cut out the small stars and the word "Stars". The rest of the sentiment was heat set on a strip of Rich Razzleberry.
Thanks for taking a look!

Beautiful. I love the strong rich colors against the white shimmer. I've been wanting to try this technique but I won't have time for a while. I hope mine turns out this well.

What a wonderful deep blue night sky. I actually really like the effect of using gesso first and then the acrylic...the gesso looks like distant nebulae with the stronger white spatters as twinkling stars.
