I could NEVER try to even come close to imitating her lush, dimensional winter scene, so I didn't even try! I still drool every time I look at that beautiful card. Anyway, the elements that I pulled in for my card from hers were:
1. Creating a background panel behind the focal image that extended the scenery onto that panel
2. The branch punch pieces sticking out from the bottom half of the focal image (she made pine branches, I used white cardstock to make sea coral)
3. A split panel look to the card. She made an easel card; I split the panels in a similar way for a flat card, with the sentiment on a separate rectangle below the square focal image.
The card is made from Stampin' Up! cardstocks in Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, and Whisper White. The ship's sails were masked before the sea and sky were sponged in, and then the masks were removed and the sails were shaded with a Sahara Sand marker. The ship piece is matted on a circle of Night of Navy and accented with antique brads to mimic the look of a ship's porthole. The coral was punched out using a pine branch punch, and each piece was secured to the back of the circle with double sided tape and further reinforced with single-sided tape on top of that (so they are really secure). The whole circle panel was popped up on the background using foam adhesive. The background panel has the sea and sky sponged in to echo the scene on the main circle piece, and the Crumb Cake mat behind that was stamped with a fishnet background stamp to add to the nautical feel of the card. The inside of the card is lined with Whisper White cardstock matted on Night of Navy, and left blank for the sender to write their own message.
This is my way of paying tribute to her gorgeous, gorgeous card (I think she actually has a couple variations of it in her gallery, so go look!)

Wow! Love how you gleaned a few things from her card and made it totally your own. Love the coloring and how you extended your scene. Might have to try that. Looks so cool!!!

Wow, what a splendid piece of artwork! Your card design is remarkable. The sky and water are beautifully colored and the sailboat porthole window is stunning in design with the fantastic addition of the branches! Your card certainly honors your "favorite" selection for an inspiration piece!
