Judy's TLC challenge today is Acrylic Batik - link to the tutorial in the challenge.
I have to admit this is a technique I have always struggled with, I'm not sure I've made a card that I uploaded to the technique gallery yet. I know that my first attempt got recycled into punched flowers - not sure what happened to the second one. I've always found that no matter what card I used, by the time I'd scraped the acrylic paint over it enough to show the resist, the card was pilling.
So - prepared to give it one more try today, and I did make a slight adaptation.
Stamped and embossed the IO Cover-A-Card Maple on off-white card. I used blue and copper acrylics, smooshed them over with a baby wipe. When that was dry, I added more blue, green and yellow, and used a credit card as per Dina's tutorial to blend those. But instead of loads of scraping, I then used another baby wipe to lift the colour from the embossed areas - so I still had my scraped mixing, but also get to see the leaves.
Let it dry, distressed the edges. Punched tiny circles at the edges and added my gold cord - in spiral loops, and a gold sequin so I think this fits Polly's MIX challenge too ;-).
The base layer, I covered the edges with the copper acrylic, and when dry, stamped TH Falling Leaves with Ranger's Archival Black.
Leaf - SU Autumn Accents die, cut from watercolour.
I spritzed it with Brusho acrylic sprays in scarlet and lemon, and shimmer mist in gold. Let dry, added the haiku sentiment from Art Neko (it reads " Flaming fall colours, Leaves brought down by rain and wind, autumn nights to come".
Sponged the edges with walnut stain, added clear SN glitter pen, gold gel pen. The leaf looked a little bare so I stamped and embossed a leaf from Fabulous Florets in white. Bent the leaf for a little dimension and some of it is supported by foam dots, some is stuck directly to the base.
Not sure I'll try the technique again, but it beat doing the housework this morning. Time to go to work now!

Absolutely beautiful! Love the base layer with the black leaves. Gorgeous cord treatment. Your white embossed leaves are so lovely as is the sentiment you used. You did much better at this technique than me, lol..

You aced this bg technique, Sabrina. I really like the subtle colors you got with the acrylic paint. That leaf stamp is perfect for this technique, and tge big red leaf is fantastic.
