Card Details:
Card Base is Whisper White Thick Cardstock cut to 4 1/4 x 11 in and scored / folded at 5 1/2 in.
The 2nd layer is a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 in. (same as card base dimensions to accommodate the gate). I added the color with my go-to Aqua Painter. I first sketched out the moon to ensure that I did not get the dark colors from the sky in the wrong place. I used the following colors on this card:
Moon: Smoky Slate and Crushed Curry
Be sure to leave some white space when coloring the moon. I wanted to obtain a more lifelike look so I only shaded with my coloring. I used just a little Crushed Curry for a yellow hue, I didnÂ’t want it to be all bright white. I wanted a cloud hanging in front of the moon so I added a bit more of smoky slate to it.
Sky: Night of Navy, Rich Razzleberry, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Dapper Denim and Whisper White Craft Ink Refill
I randomly added the mix of colors to the card, making sure to leave the moon and also add some lighter areas around where I was going to set the grave markers.
The Graveyard Gate was cut with the Big Shot, the Precision Base Plate and Watercolor Paper.
Tip: Since the Watercolor Paper is thicker, run it back and forth through the Big Shot a few times to ensure a solid cut.
After cutting out the gate, I colored it with my Aqua Painter and Night of Navy Ink. I scored the ends twice at 1/8 in intervals and folded them over. I added Fast Fuse to the inside fold and adhered it to the 2nd Layer. (see photo below)
I also cut the center of the gate so it would look like it can easily be opened.
The Lock was also cut with the Big Shot, but make sure you swap out your plate and use a Standard Cutting Pad to ensure you do not damage the die. I colored the lock with Smoky Slate Ink.
The Graveyard Stones were stamped on Watercolor Paper with Smoky Slate Ink. I blended the color with my Aqua Painter and then snipped them out with my Paper Snips.
The Sentiments were stamped with Smoky Slate Ink onto Shimmery White Cardstock. I cut them closely with my Paper Snips and adhered them with StampinÂ’ Dimensionals.
