Pam is our hostess for the 653rd Color Challenge and she has chosen a fabulous fall themed color scheme of Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive, and dessert is leaves.
For this card I've used the Embossed Impression technique that I've seen Jennifer McGuire use, most recently in the post linked below. I've CASEd one of the cards from her post for this card. For this technique, the cutting edge of a die is lightly inked with Versamark, then run through a Big Shot creating an impression in the card panel but not cutting it. Next gold embossing powder is sprinkled over the impression, excess wiped off, then heat set. It leaves a lovely gold outline in the impression. After I created my leaf impression, it was water colored with Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler inks. When the ink was dry, a gold heat embossed splatter was added, topped with the sentiment layer, then added to the Cherry Cobbler card base.
Please be sure to join us for this week's challenge! Time to start making those fall themed cards!

Wow, I like the inlaid look of the leaf with the gorgeous gold word, splattering and edges. The stitching around the card edge pulls the entire design together. Beautifully done.
