I saw the challenge last night to do the tissue water coloring technique. I got up this morning and watched the video, then I started messing. I say messing because I make big messes to clean up. Loll didn't have this problem on her end. While I was busy messing, I just tried a couple products to see what I liked best. I used Distress inks and Ken Oliver Color Bursts. I like the brighter color I got from the color bursts, but the distress inks work well, also. I added gold embossing powder over three coats of the distress ink for today's card. I stenciled my distress inks using the same colors on my white card stock for the background panel. I now wish I had made the background a little darker, but at the time, I was afraid it would take away from my cups.
Now I am off to put up all of the products that I have pulled out and left on my craft table. So let the fun begin.

I love how your cups turned out! Your stencled bg is great with the die cuts, too. And I can relate to the mess....my hands are blue from my brushos after handling the tissue paper...I got some of it off but the rest will have to ware off....

Oh, I love how your glittery cups stand out from your beautiful stenciled bg. Looking at your card makes me feel like I am in a wonderful tea/coffee shop- fun! I love purple so this card makes me very happy indeed. ~Karen.

I thought I preferred the more vivid colours too, but then when I looked again at my distress one, I decided that they were just different and I liked them both. I love the rich colours you used for your cups, and I think the soft background is perfect, echoing the colour but not distracting from the focal image.

Every inch of this is terrific Shirley. The background has the perfect amount of colour to make those fab teacups stand out. Gosh I know what you mean about mess...I don't know how Loll does it LOL.
