Wendy's free for all challenge-Inspired by the 70's!
Back in the day, my parents would rent a station wagon to visit relatives every summer. Our family of six, would pile into the wagon at 3am to reach our destination 12 hours later.
My siblings (DS & 2DB) would sprawl in the back (with the back seat down) and play board games (Trouble, Monopoly, & cards). We would dream of traveling beyond our relatives to unchartered states throughout the US, and we 'pretended' where we would live when we grew up.... Let me just say, the imaginative stories had our parents laughing histerically, minimizing our long journey. It was the best bonding time ever!
For this card, I tried my first mountain background by masking and sponging on color.
I then stamped the car image in Tranquil Tide and colored with a sparkle pen in sea breeze color, & silver metallic gel pen.
I masked the car, and used a light gray color chiseled marker for the road.
I watercolored/painted in the trees and landscaping, finished with stamping the sentiment in Dapper Denim.
Fun trip down memory lane!!

Wow, this is awesome. You had the perfect image. Wonder if that is a Chevy Nomad? Your mountains turned out beautiful. You and your siblings made a lot of memories in the back of the station wagon playing games.

You did an outstanding job with this card and your story behind it evokes wonderful memories of family road trip vacations for me. Your mountain scenery is fabulous and what a cool station wagon image. Love the sentiment, too!

We never owned a station wagon, but I always wished we had one. How fun that you rented one for vacations!!! That would have made family vacations much better for me!!

First of all, your card is fabulous! I love the scene you created! Your family story was great and made me think of my own family car trips. We didn't have the pleasure of having a station wagon. Five of us kids piled in the back seat of a 57 Chevy. Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
