TLC653: this week's technique challenge was to create a screen divider card. Thank you, Sabrina, for this technique challenge. I have wanted to try one of these cards and your challenge gave me the push to do so.
CC650: the color challenge gave us a couple of options. I did have to substitute Island Indigo for the Tranquil Tide. I chose the second option of colors.
First, I watercolored my background on the whole piece of watercolor paper using Island Indigo and Soft Suede. After cutting the pieces apart, I stamped the images. Because I didn't mask the sailboat and lighthouse, I used the white gel pen on parts of the boat and lighthouse that should be white.
Then I matted each piece with Island Indigo and smeared Nuvo glimmer paste on the beach portion of the image and added swipes of Wink of Stella here and there on the beach for a bit of beach sparkle.
The difficulty rating is due to the watercoloring, the screen card was actually fairly simple.
Thanks for looking.

I love challenges that help me move something from the "some time whenever" list to the "try it NOW" one. Catherine, wow!!! I always love sea- and beach-themed cards, as I grew up within earshot of the sea, and this one is fabulous. Not an Irish beach, with the palm trees and calm blue sea, but so beautiful! I think it reminds me most of summer holidays in Greece.
