Carla came up with an outstanding challenge this week. I hoard everythning, including "runt" cards that I fully intend to rescue some day. Today's rescue waited in the runt pile for over nine years. It was a less than perfect version of this card: Faux layer floral by stampwithdiane at Splitcoaststampers
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, wisteria wonder, old olive, and smoky slate blendabilities assortments, and also certainly celery and lovely lilac on original card
Accessories: large scallop edgelit, Elegant Designs textured impressions embossing folders, Basic Pearl Jewels and also post-it notes, brayer, and Stamp-a-ma-jig on original card
Techniques: masking and faux tearing on original card, dry embossing, die cutting

Diane, I was intrigued by your technique on the older card....and think it is a stunning card....really. Your one for today is a sweet and wonderful b'day/wedding card with the same color theme....only this time done with a focal image, pretty dry embossing and new layout. Both are winners to me.

Diane, your rescue is beautiful! Love the embossed strip and cake trio. So glad you included the link to your great instructions for the faux layer technique. Something new to try. Thanks for playing in my challenge.

Your rescue card is gorgeous. Love the addition of the image and the embossed strip. I also love your first card. Both have pretty colors and both are lovely.

Runt cards, LOL, what a great name for them. I was hoping that someone would run with the faux tearing for my recent faux WT challenge, this example is spectacular! Adding the cake image really dresses it up, and the border is a great way of covering up the tiny smudge without at all looking as if that's why you added it ;-).
