This is for CathyÂ’s WTUI Challenge to be inspired by something in your home. IÂ’m so thankful to have inherited my motherÂ’s china set. It is predominately displayed in a china hutch in my home. I have many wonderful memories of my mom using her china for holidays & special occasions. We are creating more good memories using it ourselves. I love the pretty silver designs on white china and the set goes with any colors or decorations. I silver embossed the oval teacup image on white and die-cut it. My mom loved the pastel colors, so I layered on a soft blue DSP, with a thin silver mat to mirror the silver edge of the cup. ItÂ’s very thin, but shines when it catches the light. One of the last pieces I have left of the shiny silver paper that SU! used to carry. I layered on a pink tulip embossed panel because she loved Spring & Easter with all the pretty tulips and flowers. Placed a bow for a finishing touch. Creative challenge! TFL

What a gorgeous card!! And it is great that your mother gave you her China. My mother gave my daughter her China as my daughter was the only one that said how much she loved it. So a year later my husband and I drove to Chicago, packed it up and it is now in my side board. Hopefully, one of these days she will come get it. In the meantime, have used it !!

Your moms China is very pretty with just silver and white! Always love to hear traditions pasted down! Your silver teacups look great with the pastel colors as a background! Beautiful card!

Diane, what a beautiful card this is. Then I see this gorgeous china and read your description, and this makes your card shine even more my friend. Your interpretation in making this card to suit your mother's tastes is very impressive- and beautiful! ~Karen.

Such a lovely & delicate patterned china set. Your card reflects your love for your precious mother and her China. What a lovely tribute!
I'm so glad to know you use her china. My mom wanted me to have HER grandmothers china. The thing is, the China was in France, at my cousins house. She literally brought it over when she & her husband came to visit with us for 2 weeks last year.
I'm am beyond grateful to have it in my possession, however, cannot bring myself to use it. It's on display in my built china cabinet in my kitchen. Maybe some day I'll get the nerve to actually use it and honor my great grandmother

How lovely, Diane! I can just imagine how happy it makes you to sit & sip tea from your mother's china cup! While I don't have my mom's china, I do have some dishes exactly like her everyday dishes she had when she got married. I love them!
