This ribbon is the best for the Embossed Ribbon technique. This is 100% acetate ribbon and it has a silky sheen and feel, but it is stiff. It is terrible for tying bows, but it works great with this Embossed Ribbon technique.
I followed Dina's technique exactly, spraying the ribbon with water, embossing it, and letting it sit inside the folder overnight. After 24 hours, I pulled it out and rubbed it with my finger. The embossing is still raised and crisp; it did not flatten out from my finger pressure.
So look through your ribbon stash and find the cheap, stiff, unloved ribbons and give this technique a try!
