For my card I used the six sided sampler set & hexagon punch from Stampin'-Up. I stamped the images in coastal cabana, baked brown sugar and tangerine tango inks. When I adhered them to my card, I tuned them around so they aren't in the traditional hexagon shape.
Added some interest to the corners with the gorgeous grunge stamp set in baked brown sugar ink.
I wanted to use some Washi Tape on my card and I found a set of 4 rolls in my stash (never used) from Stampin'-Up. The color of the Washi actually determined my card colors. Since I was layering it over the hexagon shapes, I didn't want to have a crease so I first layered the Washi on cardstock and then cut it out with a flag die. I like the way it turned out.
A similar card was in the SU catalog several years ago. I changed the card colors-added some layers-used Washi tape and instead of a butterfly I used a dragonfly.
To add a little more pizzazz, I used wink of stella on the dragonfly wings. I thought this would make a great masculine birthday card even with the sparkly.

Super creation, Mary. Love how you used the tape and those dies. I like the dragonfly, too.

Really like this - partly because I have the Hexagon punch and have never used it. Now I'll have some inspiration to look at! The dragonfly and the spaltters bring in even more fun elements!
