I totally LOVED this card!! I got my inspiration for this card from Bronwyn Eastley on her blog at http://addinktivedesigns.com/blog/ - she is a fellow SU! Demonstrator from Australia, and she has lovely cards and ideas. I did go ahead and case her card, as is, but kept it as an A2 tent card. I loved it, but alas...I don't have enough foil DSP to make it for my class ... so I had to improvise. This is my result. I thought it is great for the upcoming autumn/harvest/halloween season. What do you think? You can find my inspiration from Bronwyn here: http://addinktivedesigns.com/2016/11...ys-and-posies/
Recipe Cut Details:
Early Espresso: 4 1/4" x 11 (base), 4 1/2" x 2" (branch)
Pool Party: 4" x 5 1/4" (matte)
Autumn Spice DSP (retired): 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" (background)
More Mustard (retired SU): 1/2" x 7/8" (x5) for leaves
Delightful Dijon: 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" (Scalloped Oval)
Petals & Paisleys SDSP (retired SU): 2 1/2" x 1 3/4" (owl body/breast on foil dotted DSP)
Very Vanilla: 2" x 1 1/4" (x2) for wings, 1 1/4" sqare x3 for eyes & toes, 3/4" square for beak (small leaf), 1" x 3/4" (x2) for ears.
**Notes**
-You will need to stamp the spotted paisley onto the White DSP with copper foil polka dots on it and then die cut it out.
-When stamping the owls "toes", stamp one of the "eyes" and then trim off the spikes in sections of 3 to make the toes.
-When making the "ears", use the same paisley that you use to make the wings, but you will only need to stamp the "tail" of the paisley up to the flower.
-I applied the Wink of Stella to the color on the eyes to give it the realistic sheen that you see over the eyes of the local wildlife at night.
-The leaves are stamped in Delightful Dijon.
-I watercolored the toes VERY lightly in Sahara Sand to make them stand out juuuust a bit from the DSP that made up the "chest/breast" of the owl.
-I watercolored the outside of the wings and "ears" in Early Espresso as well as one of the rings of his eyes. The rest of the colors on his eyes I used the Stampin' Write Markers.
Let me know if you have any questions and what you think of this Autumn Adaptation of this card.
Hugs & Happy Stampin'
