Karen is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us a lovely, soft combo of Powder Pink, Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron and Very Vanilla. The dessert option is pearls.
This card started out so great in my mind, but took some twists and turns. I thought of this set right away: such a cute set, and it hasn't seen ink since I purchased it last April! It came with a string of pearls, which got me in the groove for the card design. Then I thought about a pink poodle, and I had my idea. I picked out a two-piece outfit, so I could use two of the colors, but when I chose my Copic markers, the green turned out way too bright and dark—not at all like Mint Macaron. This was already my second attempt, so I decided to live with it! I'm so sorry, Karen!
Then I double stamped the greeting, and the paper must have moved. I was not about to trash it after the figures were already colored, hence the separate greeting, fussy cut and glued on. Time to put on the pearl necklace—but the pearls that came with the set were much too big for her tiny neck, so out came the teensy-tiny SU pearls to the rescue.
I cut the vanilla layer with a new-to-me Tim Holtz die—this is one of my favorite dies—so pretty—added a few jewels and sequins and called it done!

Cool retro stamp. LOVE the coloring and such a great way to use the colors. The lacey bg is perfect, adds more elegance and class. Seeing the pink poodle reminds me of when I saw in papers years ago where it was stylish to die the poodles hair. I was young and thought it so funny to see pink and blue poodles....but so cute here...wonder if they still do that...;0)...very pretty...TFS..:0)
