We're heating up the gallery today with Lisa's challenge. I chose to use this digi from Verve featuring a coffee cup with a sun on it (double bonus points?).
I made my own DP by using the sun image from the digi set. I sponged Scattered Straw in the BG and colored the suns with Copics. I couldn't decide how to put everything together this morning, so I decided it would be fun to go back in time to the very first sketch challenge and use that. I had to stretch my sentiment and coffee mugs to fit properly within my tag punch. Then after I colored them I decided to add a thin black line around the tags to make them pop a bit more and just drew in some circles at the top instead of punching holes.
Lastly, I wanted to get some heat embossing in, but I didn't want to add more print. So I sponged the strip of paper in Black Soot and embossed the Canvas stamp in clear over it. Then I sponged some more Black Soot. Subtle, but adds that little extra bit of interest (and heat!).
This card is going to my Gram. At 91, she has just had a very mild heart attack and has been transferred from the hospital to the nursing home. She is actually in very good health, but has just been so confused lately that she can't be living alone anymore. She's going to love the green coffee mugs.

This is brilliant. Love your own DP, love the added circle on the take and love the added line around your tag. It all works perfect. I bet your Gram will be thrilled to have this card. Thank you for playing along.

Oh, your poor grandmother! It's hard to relinquish independence...I'm sure she'll be really cheered by those mugs and your love for her. The little tags turned out so well!
