Congratulations to Cindy Weeks aka Weekend Warrior! She's our Featured Stamper this week! Cindy, here is your card for my inspiration: CAS433 Glorious & Free by Weekend Warrior at Splitcoaststampers. I put the colored trim on the top and bottom instead of the sides, and I die leaves from a bg of distressed ink stains I had made. The leaf in the middle is cut out and has the bg paper behind it.
Unfortunately, as I was cleaning up my craft area, I dropped the black ink pad on my card. So I stamped two more leaves and a bee to cover the worst of it. I ruined my card, but after all the time it took to make, I'm posting it anyway!
Have a fun week, Cindy!

Kandie your card is fabulous and I would never have guessed that it was ruined with a dropped ink pad. I think its a beautiful touch of distress on a beautiful card!!! Kudos to you for making it work...there are no mistakes in stamping after all! That background paper you made with distress inks is gorgeous !!!
Its such an honour to be FS this week! Thanks so much for your card and kind words!

Ya know, if I had not read your description I wouldn't have realized that black wasn't supposed to be there! I think it just ties together the black leaves and the black bee.

Beautiful. I know what you mean about thinking of Autumn as I've been doing that lately, too. The hotter it gets ... maybe that's the reason! your card is amazing. Love the leaves and the colors. The bee is awesome. Perhaps you could add a little more black and disguise the opps! I love how we can "fix" things in paper crafting. Well done from Cindy's card. TFS

What a gorgeous card you have made Kandie based on Cindy's inspiration card. I was shocked that this is the card you dropped the ink pad on because there is no way I would have known otherwise. I love the distress inked leaves and how they draw your eye to the middle of the card where the image is. This is a keeper Kandie - really! ~Karen.

You know, no one would ever know you "ruined" your card! I love the added black leaf and bee, and I think the streaky bit of black above the bee looks very artistic - just like you planned it. Love the embossed leaves.

Your die cut leaves look amazing on this, Kandie. And I loved reading everyone's thoughts on this. We are always hardest on ourselves, right? I love your dsp on this and it looks good with the matting....Way to save your card!

These leaves are so gorgeous! Each element of the card was so well planned and goes together so well! Too bad about the ink drop, but you really did do a marvelous rescue. I would be happy to receive this card in it's rescued state!
