This is another card using one of the sets that I won from Stamp Simply. I colored it several weeks ago when we were on the west coast of Florida attending a dear friend's memorial service. We stayed several days, and I got to use my colored pencils and no-line coloring. When we were packing, I realized I wanted to take something to color and quickly grabbed my pencils and a small pencil sharpener. I stamped the tulip with Antique Linen on a piece of card stock that was on my table and finished packing. Let's just say I learned that X-Press It Blending Card is not ideal for pencils. Ha! My petals are what needed the most work (and still need some), but that is primarily because I ended up burnishing before I was able to get more dimension...but at least the leaves are better...I hope...and it's a lesson learned.
I had another challenge when I got home as to how I would use it. I was limited by the size of the card stock I colored, so I used my MISTI to add the "thinking of you" sentiment from the Thinking of You Rose set, used a petite oval die, placed that over the Filigree Delight die, and popped it over Certainly Celery using dimensionals. I used my Perfect Layers tool to mat it, and then I adhered it to the textured card base and added pearls in the corners. I used a stitched rectangles die and matted it with Certainly Celery for the inside to make it look more polished...and it is completely done and ready to mail!
Thank you for taking a closer look at my card, and I hope you have a wonderful week and weekend coming up! Hugs, all!

Oh, your cards are always beautiful, Cheryl. I love a tulip (favorite flower) and this one is so lovely. Pretty die cut framing, too. Love the font on your sentiment.

I like that you used pencils. I haven't used mine in years. I like the way you have the different colors flowing through the leaves, I think this look is too hard to achieve with markers. You are making me want to pull my pencils out.

Cheryl, you card is stunning in every way. I was really surprised you used colored pencils because I thought it looked like copic markers were used. You really brought this tulip to life with your no-line coloring and you framed it out so beautifully too. There is also a gentle beauty about this card that speaks to the heart.... ~Karen.

Your pencil coloring is so beautiful Cheryl! I love the filigree background - while it has a lot of detail, that only enhances the oval with the single flower.
Now it's my turn to be inspired, my friend! I might have to break out my colored pencils and try my hand at coloring (it's been months and months).
