I had no idea where I was going with this - I just wanted to try the sanded pencil technique. . . . I did have a little trouble getting shavings as I think my sand paper was WAY too fine of a grain. I tried some other implements to no avail but finally got grainier bits of color when using my lemon zester!
Peeled off my stencils and stared at this piece for a long while to decide what it was! Then realized it made me think of a Square Dance call we learned at lessons last week called "Spin, Chain and Exchange the Gears" . . . . So I decided to turn it into a Father's Day card for my dance partner - especially appropriate because we will be dancing next Sunday night.

Love your background! I'm still practicing the sandpaper/pencil technique. Not happy with my results so far but your card inspires me to keep trying. =)

I love this fantastic background!! Thank you for explaining the Spin, Chain, and Exchange the Gears, I thought it was something a mechanic would know! Silly me...
