Duke wanted to give his favorite bus driver a card for Mother's Day because even though she isn't his mother, he has adopted her as a second mother, lol! She even gives him treats in the mornings! For the card I did made the card for the mini tall card since a standard size just wouldn't work. Here are the directions for the mini tall card:
Cut your cardstock 6 1/4” on the long side and 7” on the short. Score and fold at 3 1/2”. Card front is 3 1/2” by 6 1/4”.
The envelope is the standard size envelope we send letters in.
Left over piece is 4 3/4” by 8 1/2” which is just a half inch longer than the square card Andrea posted for week 53. Take a half inch off if you want a perfect square card.
I found a picture of a bus online and hand sketched this out from that. I made the door open as you can see in the next picture and filled that with bones. The little people are from Loads of Love, I made them smaller so that Duke would stand out more. This is just a random dog stamp I have that I used for him. I traced over all the lines of the stamp after I stamped it to make the dog less *fluffy* and more like Duke. I cut the wheels out with my coluzzle and then used my white gel pen and a silver one to make the wheels. All lines and the School Bus are hand drawn, as were the bones. The two people on the bus are to represent my son who rides her bus and her assistant who is always on the bus too..lol! I thought it turned out way too cute! I also made the envelope from some yellow printer paper as I thought it worked so much better for the card. I opened up an envelope, traced it onto card stock, cut it out, and now I have a template anytime I want a different colored envelope of this size. Dog is colored with prismas and turpenoid.
