This is my third card for Roberta's challenge to use SU Cherry Cobbler, Tangelo Twist and Old Olive.
This card started off as a huge mistake and got tossed aside yesterday evening. I went on to create my first example for the challenge called Season's Greetings,
This morning I looked at the disaster and thought I could probably do something with it. It has turned out to be my favourite of the three cards.
I moistened the card base before I stamped it and had far too much water on the card so that the image just blurred and ran, I have used that blurred image as the background and then stamped a clearer image over the top just like the other card.
However before I did that I put a soft stencilled background on for added interest in the Tangelo Twist and I also put some red Wink of Stella on the berries.
Instead of stamping the greeting directly onto the topper I put it onto some vellum and turned it into a banner.
I've anchored the banner to the card with two mini glue dots behind the ribbon but as well as that I cut two slits into the card and threaded the ribbon through the card and around the vellum (quite liked the way that worked so might use that idea again lol
It just goes to show there are no mistakes just artistic opportunities lol
Which card do you like best?
Cheers
Marg

I really like what you did with your tossed aside piece of artwork, Marg. Your image looks great on an angle as well as the ribbon and sentiment on the vellum panel!

So much fun to turn a disaster into a work of art! I would never have thought 'christmas' with a color like tangelo but you have really got it working for you, Marg. Love the mottled look in the bg with the sharper image up front. Beautifully done!
