Thanks for the "memories" challenge, KelliJo...making this card brought back two distinct memories - one of my mom, and one of my son. My mom was a Science teacher and her classroom was filled with specimens of butterflies and moths. She was a great teacher and inspired her students to be really curious about their environment. The collection was actually started by her students - eager to show her what they discovered in their gardens, or in their nature walks.
The memory about my son is another special one. He has Asperger's Syndrome, and he started talking really late - when he was about 4 1/2 years old. He was reading when he was 3 though (yes, Asperger's can affect kids like so, makes the world more interesting! LOL), so when he started talking, he asked me, "Mom, are you fond of moths?", and I said, "Well, not particularly, but why are you asking?", and he answered, "Because you are a moth-er!" LOL! And no, he wasn't being 'punny'.
If you want to see more details about this card, please hop on over to my blog, thanks for viewing!

Oh, very special memories, indeed. I am sure your Mom was a wonderful science teacher and what a sweet thing for your son to say. Must have thrilled your heart. Your card is great with those beauiftul watercolors.

Beautiful colors in the bg, and the layered vellum butterfly is gorgeous!
