This is my sample for CC634. I am your hostess this week and we are having a sendoff to the retiring in-colors from 2015-2017.
Those colors are cucumber crush, mint macaron, tip-top taupe, hello honey and watermelon wonder. You can use all 5 of them if you like or pick a minimum of two for your card.
Of course, you can use neutrals of white, vanilla, black or brown Dessert option this week is to make your own background.
My background was actually made by my friend, Lisa. She sent me about 30 different mixed media backgrounds. All of them are really unique and so creative. This one was made with a gelli plate using stencils and acrylic paint.
It is almost a perfect match for watermelon wonder. So that determined my card base.
I still needed some Mother's Day card for several of my friends. The recipient of this card loves tulips. I used the CottageCutz "watering can tulips" die. Cut the can in choc chip (neutral) and used some tip top taupe dsp as an accent.
The Tulips are watermelon wonder and stems are cucumber crush. Used a wide oval stitched die to cut an open frame in tip top taupe. I didn't want to cover up the background.
I layered some silk choc chip ribbon and a piece of watermelon wonder cardstock underneath the frame. Stamped my sentiment, used a small tag punch and some linen thread to tie it to the watering can.
The Mother's Day Sentiment will be on the inside. That's my card for this week. I hope you can play along with us as we sendoff these pretty colors.
Also, entering this in the monthly theme of background checks.
