As soon as I saw Audrie's theme for this week's Inspiration Challenge I knew I wanted to make something with one of the two sets of Recollections stamps I got recently. Most of my word stamps are straightforward birthday/hello/sympathy/holiday greetings. I loved the two stamp sets on sight because they had bigger phrases and they are all positive and mostly good advice that I need to hear myself often: Embrace the Journey, Do Something You Love Everyday, and this one, which is also a shape that appeals to me for making it the focus of a card.
So I started by stamping it on green paper and cutting out. I had the die cut from playing with my newly arrived dies (I can cut more than rectangles and circles now, yay!) but it was a little too big and bright on its own behind my words so I started out edging it with the soft leaf ink and ended up dabbing the pad all over the die cut. Random, but I like the way it turned out.
I took a pre-made kraft card and layered on the soft green striped paper, then added the die cut and stamped image with foam tape. I used a border die cut from K&Co across the bottom of the card, and trimmed off a butterfly from the border that I had cut off to make the strip fit on the card, and added that at the top as a finishing touch.
Thanks for another great inspiration, Audrie! I hope your recovery is coming along well, and glad to see you back so soon!
