Pam is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has asked us to create a card or other project using Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, and Smoky Slate. The dessert option is babies or children.
I am so stoked! I usually have my card done on the weekend, and am not able to use the new Mojo Monday sketch. Besides which, sketches are supposed to make cards easy, but they are a real challenge for me. I had a busy weekend, so didn't get to my card until this morning, and just decided I was going to use the Mojo sketch, whatever it turned out to be. Fortunately, it is a very versatile sketch, and I had no trouble at all! Yay!
I made my own plaid by using the Catherine Pooler Peppermint Stick background. She showed it on a video ages ago, and I have been meaning to try it! It was fun and worked perfectly! The circle behind my little elephant was made using Distress Inks and the wrinkle-free distress technique. Finished it off with a few sequins and Wink of Stella on the balloons.
This card could certainly be used for a child, but it's going to my daughter's mother-in-law for her birthday later this week! She loves pink!
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

So fun, Barbara - I love that elephant set and have contemplated getting it because I love how he can hang upside down (but I already own a different elephant set, and how many elephant sets should one person have??? Ha!) Glad the sketch worked out, it's perfect and I can't believe you made that plaid bg - woo hoo for you!!!

This is so cute and yeah for you being able to do the sketch. I love the plaid. I had to go back and look at it again because it's so awesome. I thought it was designer paper.

So cute! Love your handmade plaid and the winkle free distress circle (that is my absolutely fave technique). Very sweet birthday card. Hugz
