I have been racking my brain on the Clean and Simple challenge from the first week of April, which was April Showers. I have NO stamps with umbrellas, rain, puddles, etc. and wasn't feeling creative enough to make something from scratch. When I was going through my many scraps looking for something else, I found this watercolor I was playing around with several weeks ago, making backgrounds. I realized that 1) watercolors were part of the suggestions and 2) the colors made it look like a puddle. The overall effect was kind of melancholy so I decided to make a sympathy card. I attached the watercolor paper to a white card, and stamped the leaf image in Recollections green ink on a scrap of blue paper. I cut out the image deliberately curving the corners and making the margin waver a bit for a more organic feel. I stamped the sentiment and then added some rickrack down the left side to soften the hard edge since that side didn't have a margin around the edge like the rest of paper.
I'm not sure how well I like the final result but it's at least okay and I can finally cross this challenge off my list! TFL!
