Wow! When you mostly do 3.75" and 4.25" square cards, 5x7 is HUGE! But I really needed the space for my card idea. I was inspired by an Easter card I saw at Target yesterday that featured a big "Happy Spring" sentiment and lots of Spring/Easter images as accents. I knew right away I wanted to use some images from my MFT (Somebunny?) set.
Stamped a canvas BG stamp in Versamark on a scrap of green cardstock and die cut the letters for my happy. These would be my top layer. Die cut 2 more sets of each from more of the green scraps. These provide dimension.
Computer generated my spring on a piece of PTI cardstock. Figured out where my p's and my y would go then used the MISTI to position my wagon of flowers and my 2 chicks. Stamped an extra set to practice coloring. Colored my images, using multi-liner to enhance the chick eyes. Ran Wink of Stella over the flowers, leaves and chicks. Used dot of glossy accents over eyes and added glossy accents to flower centers.
Assembled my layered letters and added to the card front. Added score lines top and bottom to add some interest and draw the eye into the center section of the card.
Added a 2nd layer under my front panel for added dimension and put together the card. Decided to fussy cut one of my practice chicks and have her perched on the flower wagon. Added clear sequins for added bling.
I'm entering this card in this week's CAS Challenge - Things with Wings.
TFL!
