I don't cut loose and play with collage enough, need to do that more... this was really fun, thanks for the mixed media challenge-which was to do an undersea theme with green in it.
I started by sponging a card with a combination of blues and greens from a solid blue and green ink pad plus the 5-shade Kaleidacolor pad in Calypso. I used the same sponging to color the colouring page "plant" (started out as a wave) and used orange ink to sponge the fish. I have been saving pages from my page-a-day colouring calendar for something like this! Added metallic and glitter orange gel pens to make the fish pop a little more. Then cut out the images.
I decided I wanted a sea floor so I grabbed some sandpaper (previously used to distress paper!) and ripped some strips off and attached to bottom of card, then glued colouring page images on. Was digging through stamps for inspiration and found this old Acey Deucy woman stamp, and decided she was a Nereid. stamped her with Denim Adirondack ink. Then decided I needed a bit more so added bubbles across the top and added some plants to the sea floor using some tiny shape stamps.
I really like how this turned out! My very first stamping magazine was Rubberstampmadness, which had a distinct aesthetic of collage and zine style stamping rather than the card and scrapbook stuff (which I also love) and this reminds me of some of my earliest stamping inspirations. Thanks for this challenge!
