This LO has taken me 2 days to complete and upload. Yikes. It started off well and I knew when I saw the sketch that I had some photos I could use to complete the final pages of a school LO for one of our boys. Good start.
I had lots of stash that could work and away I go merrily planning the pages. Still a good start. Then I had to stop and get back into daily life and appointments.
The second go also started well. I was trying to keep to the sketch but had found some scrap papers in my stash which had some pens on the paper. Yep, I could use those in place of arrows and they would tie in nicely with the school theme. The problem was the paper was the wrong colour. Out come my inks and sponges and away I go...first green, then blue and finally a browny red. Perfect.
All that was needed now was to stick it all together. Oops I'd got carried away and had stuck it down without revisiting the sketch but isn't that what creative liberty is about...a little tweak here and there and it still sort of looked like the sketch.
Another oops...I was hoping to upload this LO for 2 challenges and hadn't checked the challenge requirements. Quick check and relief to find I had enough items on the "recipe" list. By now I was thinking I really needed to get more organised and wasn't that what my planner on my desk was supposed to be for (now hidden by papers, scraps and inks)!
Being a lover of inking edges out come the gelatos, pencils and finally inks...anything that will darken the papers. I'd also wanted a go at edging embellishments with watercolour pencils, so after rubbing away and not getting the effect I wanted, out comes the water brush pen. Loving the pen to pencil effect. Circles diecut and embellishments added. Journalling added to the other side of the Project Life Card. Nearly complete.
Last touch...a scan and print of our son's school emblem popped up on the LO, stamping and it's finally done.
I'm thinking gosh it's taken me 2 days to do this...how will I ever finish the other challenges.
Since finishing the LO I've accidentally deleted our iPhoto library with over 30,000 photos......retrieved them from iCloud and now have a mammoth task of re-cataloguing them all.
The good news is I can finally share this "2 day to create LO".
Thank you for taking time to look and read my post. Happy day and weekend

OH, I do feel your pain , except for the loosing of the 30000 photos and having recataloge them, it sounds like what I go thru! Great job with the sketch, with different sized photos! That inspires me, because I didn't have right sized photos! Love that you inked up the paper!
It is a great LO!

Great job on your finished product! I love all the little extras you have piled in here. Great sequence of pictures as well. Though my stomach dropped when I read you lost your pictures, I am glad to know they are found again. All the more reason to keep plugging away to get them out and about for all to see! Who cares how long it takes?! Enjoy the process!
Nicely done!

Very attractive layout, congrats to you for making the sketch work in your favor. Impressive work, love how the elements and colors work so well for a masculine layout.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. I was distraught when I realised I had accidentally deleted the iPhoto library and still I have no idea why I would do it. Fortunately all are back, and even though it will take me months to recatalogue them, I'm fine with that as I can relive the memories. I find that since all of our photos have gone digital, I rarely print them unless I need them for an album. After I've finished Leith's album/s, I will start on our travel and grandchildren ones...lots to do. Happy Saturday. It's bleak and raining here but a good day to scrap jx

2 days to complete doesn't sound bad when I consider I've sometimes had an in-process layout on my desk for over a week! This turned out so nicely, with some great paper, embellishments, and photos coming together to create a memorable layout. Thanks for playing along with the sketch challenge, and I am so glad you got your photos back!
