Congratulations, Linda! I loved grazing through your gallery! I chose this card to CASE: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers.
I just love these church ladies. HOWEVER, as you can see, I was having difficulty coloring my gal on your left. My Copic marker was too wet and gave me ink puddles. I have never had this happen before. So, I posted this awful colored image to ask advice as to: 1. Why did my Copic marker puddle....I store them horizontally. 2. I tried using the 0 blender marker and this was a complete FAIL! Any and all suggestions are welcomed! BTW, I will change out the image before this card ever goes in the mail! LOL!

It's still a fun card, Lesley! To me it sounds as if your marker was overfilled. The blender will lighten it, but it probably will never remove it all. When you use the blender, make sure the original color is dry first. If it's still wet, it will only make it bleed more. And as Brenda said, if your paper is very absorbent, it will tend to bleed more. Also, make sure the colors next to what you're coloring are dry before you start an area. Like if the color on her face or arm were still wet & you added the turq, it would bleed right into it. And vice versa..if the turq were really wet & you added the skin color next to it, it would draw that turq into the skin area.

These ladies are super fun! LOL! Bummer about the colors running but it looks like such a fun card to make that it won't be bad if you have to make it over again. I sometimes have greens and blues run on me and I don't know how to avoid it.

I have always loved this super cute image. Love the blue hair. That is stylish these days.
I am not an expert, but I have some expensive white card stock that I use to stamp on and it puddles. I have others that do quite well with copics. Lately, I am using more and more of the Georgia Pacific. I can no longer get the paper that was the best for copic coloring.

Love this fun card and that perfect sentiment.
I use Spectrum Noir alcohol and their ultrasmooth paper with Memento ink. I understand x-press it paper works well with copics.

Lesley - I'm thrilled that you decided to case my church ladies as I had so much fun with the 'tongue in cheek' original and this is another great sentiment for them to chat about. Perhaps the bleeds were part of a bad blue dye job on her hair - when I used to dye mine I always tended to get splotches of hairdye stains on my neck & arms . . .that thankfully faded after a couple of showers and sometime a little ajax. I like that you actually added the pew for them to sit on . . . Thanks for strolling through my gallery and caseing a fun card.

Frankly I was so taken by the sentiment that I didn't even notice the colouring that is a bit 'off'! I think it stands out to you more than to anyone else who sees it! Love your proper ladies. The sentiment is a hoot!

The card is great! I love that image When your copic marker puddles ink, try taking the cap off both ends. I read somewhere that pressure builds and removing both caps and continuing to color levels it out. It works!

It's sure a fun image & sentiment! It sounds like you got some expert advice which I paid close attention. I don't use my copics much so thanks for posting so I could learn too.
