Kelly challenged us to Stamp Doodling. How fun! I have to say I kind of feel like I took the easy way out here with a SU set that looks doodled to begin with. You know what though? I like it so much better post-doodle.
So my original plan with this card was to stamp my scene and then put a frame over it. If you look really closely you can see the pencil mark that just wouldn't erase where I marked off where the frame would go. I started off my stamping the sun and masking, then I stamped the butterfly and masked, but--oops! I had already masked off the sun, so my butterfly wing was behind the sun. No problem--I just drew in the missing part of the wing because I was doodling anyway (still there is some yellow in the butterfly's wing). I stamped the flowers and lightly sponged in a blue sky.
Then I started in with my doodling. All I did was draw each wing and petal over again but slightly off from where the stamp was. Then I added a couple of dots on the wings and I doodled some leaves around the flowers. Thought about doodling a circle around the sun, but, no, I like it the way it is. Then I colored in with Spectrum Noirs with just dots to keep the doodled look. I think I liked the flowers better when they were white, but I just can never seem to help myself--I'm a compulsive colorer.

Oh Jen, I love the soft colors on all your pieces - (my personal opinion - white flowers would have been too bland) - I just knew this challenge would be in your wheel-house since you already do such beautiful caligraphy!

Ohhh I love this, straight into my faves! Just reading Linda's comment above ... did you hand write your Hello? If so, WOW! My writing is atrocious so I'm always very envious of anyone who can make such beautiful letters
