This is my sample for CC623. Karen is our hostess and she chose pool party, island indigo and perfect plum for her color trio. Dessert option this week is to make it golden. A little tough for me with a masculine birthday card but I made it work.
My card base and some elements are from the 2016 Stampin'-Up Paper Pumpkin Kit "many manly occasions". This kit came with corrugated orange cardstock to use under the front panel. I liked that look so I used island indigo cardstock and ran it through my paper crimper.
The pool party "Happy" word die cut came in the kit. I stamped the birthday sentiment using the stamp set from this kit in island indigo ink.
My balloons are from the MFT stamp set "party balloons". It has a matching die to cut them out. I covered the perfect plum balloon with some fabulous foil acetate designer paper from Stampin'-Up. That covered my dessert option for me.
Added a few stars on the sentiment panel and completed the card.
Hope you can play along with us this week. Check out the other DT samples for more inspiration. Also here is a link to our Color Challenge Pinterest board.

I love this, Mary!! I like the crimped look under the die cut too, and I just plain love that die cut with the great place for the sentiment - such a festive birthday card!!

WOW is this an awesome birthday card Mary!! I just love the balloons floating off the page. Your bg is super cool, and I like how you put the sentiment on an angle.
