Made as a Design Team card for Try Stampin' -Or Not- On Tuesday Sketch Challenge #308: http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/ with an optional theme "Hugs & Kisses".
With Valentines Day coming up, I knew what I wanted (and the sketch featured a heart). So I dug into my stamp stash for an interesting heart design and found my Heidi Grace Valentines Day clear stamp set that I'd bought on a whim, but never used!
With the whirly heart as my starting point, I looked through my "on a whim" stash of papers and found the Recollections Valentine Paper Pad which I had also never used (I typically stick with all Stampin' Up! products). The papers were a perfect match for my SU Melon Mambo cardstock and ink, so everything just came together!
I used my new MISTI to stamp the heart multiple times to darken the ink, since my test stamping was too light. I wanted to make sure the second stamping was EXACTLY on top of the first.
The measurements for the papers/cardstock are:
Card Base: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2"
Striped Panel: 4-1/4" x 2"
Swirly Pattern Panel: 2-3/4" x 4" (matted with 3"x4-1/4")
Whsiper White Heart Panel: 2-3/8"x 2-1/4" (matted with 2-5/8" x 2-1/2")
All panels were glued down except the matted heart panel which was adhered using Adhesive Foam Strips to add depth to the card.
Don't forget to tie the ribbon bow and attach it to the swirly pattern paper before matting it, or alternatively before gluing the matted panel to the card base (I seem to always forget that since I don't often work with bows - I'm bow challenged, so that's why I used a Bow-Easy to tie it.
