This is for my nephew, Curtis. He is turning 20 next week! He and his brother are both very musically talented. They can play almost any instrument and sing like angels. Curtis played a saxophone in the high school jazz band and when I saw today's sketch I thought wouldn't a sax look really cool in the circle. So I found this coloring page online. It had music notes around it. So I printed the sax, music notes, and digi sentiment (from Tiddly Inks--isn't it lovely?). The sentiment was just so pretty I couldn't help cheating a bit and spreading it across the entire card. Then I die cut the circles and colored and fussy cut the sax. I die cut the music notes using a postage stamp die and I didn't like how it looked, so I die cut the circle shape and drew on the music notes. I chose sequins for the three little hearts on the sketch because they reminded me of the "buttons" on the saxophone.
I am so grateful for these daily challenges! I really love how this card came out and I have this whole community to thank for all the great ideas and inspiration!
