| | I made this card for the Alphabet challenge for this week for the letter Y for Yuletide greetings. I found out that yuletide is an ancient way of saying Christmas. Also, in centuries before, people would save a very large log to burn at Christmas time and this was called the yule log (or Christmas log). I chose this wood grain dsp to use to represent my yule log. The Christmas greeting is white heat embossed onto the dsp. I cut the detailed ornament top from teal suede paper and the ornament topper from a piece of scrap silver mirror paper. I took a sheet of card stock a little bigger than the size of the ornament backer die. I sprinkled color burst powders on this sheet of cs and sprayed water on the whole thing, then set it aside to dry. It dries in a few minutes; then I spray this same piece with Elmer's spray adhesive and pour dazzling diamonds glitter over the entire piece and let dry for about 5 minutes. Then I die cut the ornament backer from this color burst piece. Adhere the suede paper to the color burst backer piece using Tombo glue. The pine branch is die cut, then use 2-way glue pen on entire piece and pour dazzling diamonds over everything and let dry for a couple of minutes. Cut ornament topper from silver foil and placed a small strip of a starform sticker from the ornament topper up to the branch to look like a silver cord. This card really was pretty fast to make and it is fun to watch all the elements come together. Thanks for looking! |
