Today the challenge is Fairy Tale Inspired - this is The Fir Tree by Hans Christian Andersen. The little tree was jealous of the taller trees and the woodland creatures made fun of his lowly stature. He grew up and was finally cut down, decorated and was the centre of attention on Christmas Day ... but was sadly left to whither in the loft the following day. Bit of a motto going on here ... be careful what you wish for!

Sandie, what a good lesson you taught me today about my wishes. Just the same, your card is a beauty. Love the star above the wonderful, framed trees.

Fabulous card and illustration of the story. A good reminder! Love how you highlighted a portion of the forest. The blue, white and silver is awesome. Love the little star. Wonderful card.

Oh, just gorgeous Sandie! I like the sort of spotlight effect with the blue sky on the popped-up panel, and the silver matting adds great winter sparkle. Hmm, I know I've read all his stories but that's not one of the ones I remember. I think probably the ones I remember best were the ones in the smaller illustrated book I had. I still vividly remember the dancing princesses and an underground lake! And the girl whose brothers were turned into swans and she had to spin or weave nettles...Now I think I need to pull the book out and see if I'm imagining these!

I love the story of your tree, you are right, be careful what you wish for, you just never know...Super stunning layout and I love that you highlighted the center of the tree line. Thank you so much for playing along and adding a story.
